Program Description

Japanese Meridian Therapy is based around Chapter 69 of the Classic of Difficulties. Practitioners of JMT use Five Element relationships to balance the pulse and therefore the system of the patient by diagnosing and treating the Sho, or diagnostic pattern.

In this course, students will learn advanced diagnostic methods and manual techniques to increase efficacy in their treatments. Nakano-Sensei will introduce his special Root Treatment Tester to verify both the accuracy of diagnosis and the appropriate side for root treatment. In addition, he will introduce two treatment techniques for tonification points, “Heaven Acupuncture” and “Earth Acupuncture,” and the verification method he uses to decide which will be appropriate.

Nakano-Sensei will also introduce is Multi-Tester, a method to identify the acupuncture points requiring tonification or dispersion during treatment through an approach he calls Spatiotemporal Pattern Differentiation

Students will also learn Nakano-Sensei’s Yuden-ryu Acupuncture Method for branch treatments, to alleviate localized pain, swelling, masses, tenderness, and induration.

As always in HDHS workshops, there will not only be lecture, but also ample time to practice the techniques discussed so practitioners can return to the office ready to put these skills to use.
